I was able to get a good ,v file from

creosote.python.org:/usr/local/archives/python-cvsroot.tar.bz2.168

I've not checked any of the other files in archive 169 for problems; that's 
likely worth doing.  Archive 168 was retrieved from SF on June 5; the next 
archive (169) was retrieved 24 hours later and contains at least one wrong ,v 
file.
