Yes. But a thing that I was always missing, that in this
mode, I have no chance to specify what whitespace is.
I would like to add a way to spell this out.
Do you see any sane way for a syntax?
Or would it be better to see the current behavior as
a special case to be deprecated, and better have an extra method
like "splitspan" or something?
