[Python-Dev] Timing for Py2.4

I have no interest in having my motives or my intentions
maligned any further. I volunteered as release manager
purely from a desire to help the Python community, my only
goal is to keep Python's release quality at a high level.

Due to abusive private email, I have no interest in
continuing this thread. Cutting releases is a non-trivial
amount of (quite boring, and high concentration) work.
Demands that I spend time on it when it suits someone
else are both insulting and unrealistic. Being accused
of bad faith because I have a different belief in the
correct time to do a release is beyond insulting.

If anyone is absolutely wanting to do the release sooner
than the timeframe we discussed at PyCon, they're welcome
to it. But don't take this on unless you're going to do
it right, and all of it. This includes all the cross-platform
testing, and chasing up people to make sure it gets tested on
the more obscure platforms. I'm still planning to get a 2.3.4
out in May, and if the 2.4 release happens in the timeframe
that I can deal with it, I'm happy to do it.
