Docutils uses it in the docutils.parsers.rst.states module, Body class:

    patterns = {
          'bullet': ur'[-+*\u2022\u2023\u2043]( +|$)',
    ...

    attribution_pattern = re.compile(ur'(---?(?!-)|\u2014) *(?=[^ \n])')
