[Python-Dev] Filename as byte string in python 2.6 or 3.0?

Is it really a 2.6 problem? I could not find any difference with 2.5
in this regard,
the tests you propose still pass.

With python 2.6,
>>> bytes is str
True
But I agree that this is THE unresolved issue of python 3.0.
