I'm just getting:

~$ python2.7 -m idlelib
/usr/bin/python2.7: No module named idlelib.__main__; 'idlelib' is a 
package and cannot be directly executed

Same with python3...

...but thank you for talking about IDLE (the possibility of reediting 
and using history it so easy that I'm going to give it a try at least 
when I'm on windows...)
