Joining us is Lynn Root founder of PyLadies SF, Kristin Smith CEO of
Code Fellows, Cris Ewing Code Fellows Python instructor, Krista Davis
from Google, Steph Burg from Microsoft, Stephanie Kim of PyLadies
Seattle, and Kamila Stepniowska of Girl Geek Carrots. We’ll congregate
as a Python community to share how to move forward with positive
strategies and tactics to include more women in computer science.
It's important we have men participate as well as women in this event.
Men must actively formulate a plan to become a part of the solution to
including more women in tech communities. So far 52% of RSVPs are women.
This is great for a general interest tech user group.
Larry Hastings release manager of Python 3.5, will be here. But he'll be
recovering from jet lag from traveing. If he's up to it, he'll add some
words on progress.
Facebook will have recruiters specializing in diversity hiring to speak
with any women interested in finding out more about jobs and opportunities.
Facebook is generously providing food and refreshments, including beer
and wine. Space is limited. For more details on the event and to RSVP,
visit http://pupyug.org <http://pupyug.org/>
