<p>Please note that events using the term "PyCon" are subject to the
PSF trademark policy: <a
href="https://www.python.org/psf/trademarks/pycon/"
moz-do-not-send="true">PSF PyCon Trademark Usage Policy</a> (see
<a href="https://www.python.org/psf/trademarks-faq/"
moz-do-not-send="true">PSF Trademark Frequently Asked Questions</a>
for more information).</p>
<p>This means that you will have to request permission from the PSF
TM committee if you want to use the name.</p>
<p>Given that you are running a smaller event, it may make sense to
use a different name to avoid the hassles, e.g. "PyDay Togo" or
something similar, which does not have those processes attached
(you still need to comply to the PSF logo policy if you want to
reuse the Python logo).<br>
</p>
<p>I have put Mannie Young on CC to comment on this.</p>
<p>PS: I'm also co-chair of the PSF trademark committee, which is
why I'm raising this here.<br>
