error installing ldapmodule1.8

Is OpenLDAP 2.0 supported? I faced some problems compiling python-ldap with
it. The problems went away when I used OpenLDAP 2.1.  This may be due to a
bug in the local environment, I was playing around with both OpenLDAP 2.0
and 2.1.
