Ask your OS vendor then. Probably you can install the SRPM.

I won't give any support for such ancient releases especially if you want to 
use them with newer Python versions!

As said: Either compile recent releases competeley yourself in a separate 
prefix (I'd do this) or solely stick to the distro's packages and ask the OS 
vendor for support.
