dump() for python 1.5.2?

I need a way to find out the locations of any embedded widgets in a text
widget.

The tkinter documentation at www.pythonware.com has a dump() method
which would do what I want, but it "is not implimented in python 1.5.2
and earlier". It also has a note: "FIXME: add material on the dump
method, and how to use it is 1.5.2 and earlier"

Does anyone know?
