Resident Python Interpreter

 Hello Python People,

   I was wondering if there is a way to have a resident python
interpreter for CGI scripting similar to the Perl ISAPI extension for
ACtiveState Perl.  For instance I need to have a CGI script create a
python data object and have this object persist in a shared namespace
from CGI process to CGI process.  I know that Python has a COM
interface to an interpreter.  CAn I use this COM server to accomplish
what I am describing?
