Hi
I have had limited success with python 1.52 and cygwin 20.1
building static versions of addon libraries
The numeric module is a good test
I had problems with the socket and related modules
I presume if one could get these to work then we
would have a cygwin python
I have not tried this for a while as I was waiting for a newer release
of cygwin
If you are interested I can send you what I have
but I believe that Guido added my mods to make python with cygwin
to the standard distribution
I am interested in getting python compiling with cygwin
for another project I am working on that you might find interesting
http://www.flightgear.org
I have a long standing interest in making something like this
with bathymetric data
Cheers
