HPUX and threaded python

I need threaded python to run zope on hpux 10.20.
I got pthreads 1.3.7 build and installed
I do a ./configure --with threads
I builds but when I try to run the python binary it core dumps with ...
pthread_mutex_init: Invalid argument

Does anyone have any advice or precompiled thread enabeld python
binaries for hpux 10.20...
