I don't know of any defn. for "std idiom" that doesn't appeal to what
experienced programmers in a language routinely do.  Since Python's std
library contains "while 1" more than 400 times, it's hard to see how that
could *not* be considered a std Python idiom.

Don't know about Fredrik, but I'd be confused at first sight if it were
spelled in any other way.
