ready for C or C++?

I began playing with Python about a year ago and just started learning C
for the heck of it.  It's going well so far, but its lower level and you
have to learn and get comfortable with pointers.  Other than that, my
only trouble is forgetting {}'s and ;'s (Python spoils you).
