AFIK udpecho.py isn't the same thing as ping.
I found some code to listen for a ping, but there's a lot I don't understand
about it.
It picks up pings coming from 127.0.0.1 but not from another machine ??
Ping uses an ICMP echo request, which requires some down an dirty socket
work.
