Does Python help with the no-Unix handicap?

I think that might be on the right track, but I think it'd be more
accurate to say that many of us used those tools because they were the
best available then; had something like Python been around, we would
have used that instead.

OTOH, I do still delight in writing the occasional really grotty regex
in vi....
