HTML Parser? Sample Code?

Has anyone used the HTML parser.  I'd like to be able to skillfully
disect html pages and put various types of information into lists and
other objects using the tag structure of the HTML and not needing to
write the stacking and pattern matching routines with regexp.  I'm new
to python and am having trouble with the HTML parser documentation
that's on line.  Does someone have some sample code I could look at?
