    Did you miss Smith?     (Did you fail to meet a person named Smith?)
    Did you Miss Smith?    (I won't translate this one; put on your Old
                                     English hat and accent the first word. 
                                     "Didst thou Miss Smith?")

Hey, for that matter:

    Put on your old English hat.
    Put on your Old English hat.
