Depends on what you mean by that. A version of Python that is 'purely
Unicode'? Never. I guess the Python source code will be ASCII for a
while, and the 'raw bytes' data type will be called 'string' for
perhaps even longer.

What you *will* see is a version of Python that supports processing
Unicode data; that will be Python 1.6.
