index w/syntax.

I am looking for a concise, online, searchable function index and syntax
list. Ok, the concise and searchable are options. but i am in nesd of a
function list with syntax statements.

Where can i look?

I have the documents that come with the python 1.52 install for win98.
And have not found what i am looking for in the main docs, nor on the
website.
