    Oh, I've already written something productive in Python.  Ported a dice
server from Perl to Python in about a week with some help from here on the
finer details.  I still dabble with it from time to time.  OTOH I also know
that if I get into Python coding I'll come back to it in 6 months and see
about a dozen ways to do things better.  For what I want to do at work I doubt
I'd be able to get to that level in under a year because I need to understand
the concept as well as implementation.
