Your issues might be doing to installing ActiveState on
top of another Python... try uninstalling everything, then
reinstalling -- or just try a 'virgin' machine... I've used
ActiveState on NT 4 (though now I'm back to standard
Python distribution + win32all) and had no problems when
always working on the uninstall/reinstall procedure...
