Careful there.  That needs to be taken in context.  The original
license for Linux did not allow commercial redistribution at all, and
that is what tended to hold it back in a sort of hobbyists' ghetto.
It's not so much that the GPL was particularly wonderful, but that the
earlier license was overly restrictive.
