If there are lines longer than about 80 characters, it will
very likely get mangled again in the process.  One solution
is to select it all then do indent-region in Emacs.  Although
with the formatting carrying actual information in Python I'm
not confident that would work; for another language it would 
work.  Say, what *is* the solution for that in Python?
