PEP 242 (Numeric kinds) has been updated. http://python.sourceforge.net/peps/pep-0242.html I will release a reference implementation draft with Numeric-19.1 for your dining pleasure. It turns out no modification of Python itself is needed. Please let me have comments on this PEP so I can finish it.
