Well, I don't want to disappoint you, but essentially
there isn't anything behind that statement.

I suppose somebody could go out and find out how
many new books were published about python, and how
many that is as a percentage of the books previously
published on python, and use that as a growth metric,
but it would be a totally bogus metric.

Essentially, python is growing, and IMHO it is growing
quickly, but nobody can sell books or training courses
with "Learn the 7th fastest growing language out
there!!!". Nor does anybody have any interest in
actually putting in the effort to find out how fast
python is growing. (If it's even possible)

Whenever people speak in vague absolutes like "fastest",
"best", "most flexible", "best documented", etc,
they're either lying to you, or they're in marketing.
