The Kompany & Black Adder

The Kompany has several very interesting products.  However, they seem so 
intent on not helping anyone for free that they have completely isolated 
and hidden themselves from the interested user: no newsgroup, no mail list, 
and a $15 charge per instance for email support.  Has anyone else attempted 
to evaluate Black Adder?  My installation has solid black for all icons.  
As per The Kompany's warning it will not save anything and has no 
documentation.  So, I am wondering:  what is it good for?  How can you 
evaluate something so severely crippled?  Has anyone here bought Black 
Adder?  What has your experience been?
