Hi.  Even if you were paying many red cents, you would not automatically
acquire more rights in this area.  It depends on the contract.  People pay
for Microsoft software, and do not have much to say there, for example.

The only right you have is to _not_ pay, or the right to not use Python
if you do not like the directions it takes.

However, all this being said, the BDFL might well choose to listen to you,
or set up consultation mechanisms like PEPs, or otherwise open participation.
I mean that those owning Python may decide to give you some privileges...
The current Python license is a remarkably nice privilege already! :-)
