How to upgrade python 2.0.1

To all,

I just installed the Python 2.0. I did the following

tar Ixvf Python-2.0.tar.bz2
./configure
make
 make install

Now,the question is  how do I  upgrade to Python-2.0.1? (I downloaded
the thePython-2.0.1.tgz file),I am not sure is there any difference
between the tar.gz and tgz files,and how to do with tgz file, I am
trying to using 4Suite  and PyXML with that Python.
Please any help? should I  use the Python2.1 or...?  thank you  in
advance..
