Problems with Tkinter and menus

The problem persists for me, unfortunately. 
I'm using Linux 2.4.5/XFree86 4.1.0/Python 2.1/Tcl 8.3. I've tried KDE 2.1.1
and Fvwm 2.2.5 with the same result.
