Standalone applications

[Ryujin]

Hi, Im trying to understand which is the best way to create a Standalone application in Python.
I downloaded Standalone.py from http://starship.python.net/crew/gmcm/distribute.html
and it works with python1.5 but the executable must stay in the same directory of the .so files.
Then I tried to download Python2C and it generate from a file.py two files:
__file.c adn _file.py 
and then I cant figure out how to compile the file.c

Any suggestion???
