Have you got an ODBC driver for Ingres (either Unix or Windows) ?
If Yes, get mxODBC package from http://www.lemburg.com/files/python/
You'll find from this link all required information to play with databases
using the DBI 2.0 API and install/setup your platform/db engine specific
ODBC driver.
If no ODBC driver is available... sorry there's no direct python bridge to
Ingres II AFAIK.
