I will kill my Python

Certainly the tone of the original message warrants both replies that
were given - I'm surprised there weren't more...

OTOH, I think the issue that was so poorly raised is an important one -
that for Phython to have the greatest reach (it is certainly useful
right now, as has been shown by it's many applications), it needs to be
more than a great and pure language, but be a "solution" for people.
(Including things like deployment options, etc.) As a person evaluating
Python myself (a post with a hopefully more approacable manner
forthcoming) I think these are important considerations. (As are
performance, debuggers, ease of setup and configuration, understanding
integration and interoperability issues, etc.)

On a related topic, I've seen some Microsoft bashing here as well (not
just this post.) There's certainly nothing wrong with that (It's a
profession for some) but I must say that in some cases it reduces
Python's credibility. I want to see people using it because it works
for them, not just because they hate the evil Micro$oft and would
rather code with toggle-switches than use anything built even 500 miles
from Redmond. Just some thoughts...

thanks,
mike
