coroutines?

Looks like a very nice feature, but I don't think it solves my problem -- I 
already have everything in a nice list I can iterate over, the problem is 
that I have to simulate the iteration by hand rather than using a nice for 
loop because the control flow is incompatible with the windowing system.

PEP 219 looks more relevant, but doesn't look ready for prime time
(and hasn't been ported to the Mac)...
