I'm new to wxPython (not to mention Python) myself. Since you 
didn't mention it I would say that I found the demo that 
accompanies wxPython to be a big help. I've read somewhere that 
wxPython was "tuned" to be easy to work with and this is certainly 
my initial impression. - Bill
