How do I avoid the Tkinter 30 msec polling loop.

Thanks for the short answer.  I don't know tcl
(well, did a little once, but developed an
allergy to it).  Whether your long answer
provokes me into useful investigations remains
to be seen.  Guess it depends on how much I
am trying to avoid 'real' work sometime.
