I hope so, but I have some doubts/fears.  Architecting an application to
expose a usable object model in addition to a CLI or GUI requires a somewhat
different mindset, I suspect.  It may take a while for developers to achieve
the required metanoia.

Not to sound too gloomy, I'm glad to hear that Gnome and KDE have the object
model concept built in -- that'll definitely facilitate the process.
