Need advice: XML-RPC

I'd like to start to research the world of XML, especially for communication
and data exchange (guess, this is what XML-RPC means). And I'd like to do
that using Python.
Yet I'm a bit uncertain how to tackle this.

I'm experienced in application programming using MSVC++, Python and MSVB. I
know HTML and RPC (DCE RPC), COM/DCOM a bit and CORBA too.

So I am new to XML but not to sw dev.

Any hint is appreciated.
