Source files?

I just learned about Python a couple of days ago. A customer suggested
we use it (rather than Java) for an application interface. So, I
downloaded the latest beta version, Python-2_2b1.exe, and installed it.
I was under the impression that it came with open source. I can't find
any source files. Dot-h, yes. Dot-c or dot-cpp, no. How does one
obtain them?
Best regards,
Jive
