Trouble installing MacPython

I am trying to install MacPython 2.1.1 on OSX 1.0.4. I get the warning that
most probably running configurePythoCaron during install will fail. And that
I should run it after. When I double-click on ConfigurePythonCarbon after
the install I get the message "the application configurePythonCarbon has
unexpectedly quit..." how can I complete the install successfully? Thanks.
