why no 'length' method in sequences ?

Indeed, your arguments are very good and make me think : e.g. I wouldn't
like to get rid of the operators, so why dislike functions ? And I  simply
forgot that there was already a __len__ method !

I humbly implore you, Great Guru, have mercy, don't hit me this time ! I am
sincere and naive in my stupidity. I didn't fully realize how arrogant and
foolish I was by expressing shallow feelings without having first completely
understood the design of the language. I forgot my rank. Will you forgive me
? I swear I'll try hard to be worthy of this newsgroup next time and won't
ask silly questions that waste your precious time and might spoil the spirit
of innocent readers.
