Java to Python translation

Thank you all for your suggestions and for pointing out obvious obstacles. Yes,
100MB of java source sounds impressive, and is.  But there seem to be some
alternatives to  re-writing that project in python from scrap, to not turn all
that java code into total waste. Jython and Antlr, P-lex, Lex-Yacc, to name a
few suggestions, each promises to bring a little closer to a possible, though
imperfect, solution. I am very enthousiastic about all your suggestions, and
would like to give a wack at each, see what flies and what bombs.
