Build bugs in Python 2.2.1?

Since the build process is complex, you should at least mention the platform
you are trying to build for. Solaris? HP-UX? Have you used a web search
engine to look for prior occurrences of this problem? Have you read the
platform-specific portions of the README that relate to your platform?
