well he certainly wasn't English, although A Scot wouldn't really make

Saxons :(
All those Harry's unto the breach etc etc were all Northmen. Some might
argue that Richard III was English, but I doubt it, after all he claimed
half of France etc etc.
The Anglo Saxon Edward III was also called the confessor, but he was
earlier around 1027?
