CPython vs. Jython for Web applications?

As jdk1.4 is faster (a lot IMO) than microsofts "almost java" vm wouldn't
that make jython faster or as fast as cpython on windows? And I really doubt
the figures on linux... try a recent java version from IBM or SUN - not
some -95 hack...
