Python.NET *would* have done exactly this, had it ever come to fruition.  It was an experimental project,
however, that has apparently been discontinued.  While the experimental code might or might not be
available from ActiveState, I sincerely doubt that it's useful in a production environment.

Note that Python.NET is distinct from VisualPython.Net -- the former is a Python implementation that will
run in MS's .NET CLR; the latter is a Python-editing plugin for Visual Studio.Net.  The plugin is
available, and works (or so I presume, haven't tested it myself though ;) ).  The Python-for-.NET-CLR is
still vaporware.
