...or stick with mxODBC and use a decent ODBC driver for Oracle
like the ones from EasySoft, OpenLink or Data-Direct.

They cost money, but they also take the load off of you to write
a new Oracle interface each time Oracle bumps the patch level
of their DB ;-)
