Well, your stripped down code seems to work (except for the Thingy/Thing 
misspelling, and I had to replace the initialization expressions with 
something meaningful). You could try producing some stripped down code that 
is actually runnable. If it works for you as well, then the problem is in 
something you stripped out, if not then posting the runnable code would be 
elpful.
